ABOUT FOUNDER GERALD GREENWOOD

Founder Gerald Greenwood. Gerald was born in Chicago on the Southside in 1944. He moved to Waukegan Illinois where he lived with mother. He started in Catholic school. When his mother married a soldier he moved to Fort Leonard Wood. He received his high school diploma in 1962 North Salinas high school. He received AA from Hartnell Junior college in Salinas. Bachelor in 1967 at Sacramento State college. From 1967-1970 he served in US Army completed Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning Georgia. He served as an infantry training officer and company commander at Fort ORD California. After leaving the Army in1970 he attended Washington University in St. Louis. He completed graduate school in 1972. He received his master degree in Social Work and is a LCSW in the State of California. He married Sonia Greenwood in San Juan Puerto Rico. They have been married for 50 years. He also has a master's degree in Public Administration from Golden Gate University. He spent 20 years in military service and retired from the US Air Force. As social worker he worked in mental health service also child advocacy therapist and alcohol treatment. Chief treatment centers at Clark Air Force Base and Travis Air Force. He last worked at California State Prison Sacramento.
